Why Solar Electricity?

Decision Making

Decision Making
There are many genuinely valid questions by whoever is considering solar for the first time, especially the application to Sri Lanka. Is the solar technology mature enough? Is the right time to consider solar? Are solar systems reliable in Sri Lankan weather conditions? Solar technology has been around for many years despite the recent renewed interest in the solar energy technology in the last few years. Solar generated electricity applications in aerospace science and the military have proven to be quite viable and useful. High cost of energy mainly in Europe has driven the demand for solar produce electricity in commercial and residential buildings for over a decade. More

Best Investment
Important point in development of new sources of power or application of existent power sources to new widespread application is to achieve grid parity. This point means that the electricity generated from alternative energy cost equal to or less than the price of purchasing power from the grid, the point at which it becomes a contender for widespread development without subsidy support. Solar Integration for New Build
Would I a house for happiness erect, Nature alone should be my architect, She'd build it more convenient than great, And doubtless in the country choose her seat - Horace, 20 B.C

Homeowners are more aware than ever of their property’s energy performance. Inevitably, government will ‘encourage’ house builders, either through voluntary or statutory measures, to make their housing increasingly energy efficient and capable of generating some of its own energy. This is the trend in other part of the world and soon will be in Sri Lanka. Forward-thinking house builders are already designing with this prospect in mind. Planning new homes with solar Electricity; (a) plan at least 6 months ahead, (b) consult Solar electricity expert regarding your future home and the expected electricity bill, (d) decide on the suitable system capacity, (e) discuss with bank and integrate the system cost with home loan if applicable, (f) consult architect and have final home plans with Solar expert, and lastly (g) integrate installation of solar electricity system at the appropriate stage.

What is Net Metering?

During day time the produced electricity will be used in the home, any excess will be given to the CEB. The amount is recorded in the export account of the NET meter.
