FARU 2017 - "Design that cares”
Multi disciplinary approaches to creating sustainable and meaningful built environments

The 10th International research conference organized by the Faculty of Architecture, University of Moratuwa is scheduled to be held on the 8th & 9th of December 2017 at the Blue Waters Hotel, Wadduwa. The conference is aimed at attracting architects, allied professional and researchers in the architecture and allied fields. The conference will cover areas like sustainable buildings, innovation and energy sustainability of materials, products and interior design and adapting buildings to climatic problems such as global warming and natural disasters.

Keynote Speakers

With nearly 250 building professionals, academics and researchers from both Sri Lanka and overseas will participate in this two day conference which will consist of 3 keynote speakers;

Professor Susan Roaf

Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom

She is an internationally recognised speaker on issues of the environment and buildings and gave the Keynote talks at the ARBS2010 in Sydney and the ASHRAE 2009 Conferences, being the premier HVAC conferences in South East Asia and the USA respectively.

Professor Geoffrey Qiping Shen

Chair Professor of Construction Management and Associate Dean of Faculty of Construction and Environment of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr Katherine Moline

University of New South Wales, Australia

Dr Katherine Moline is an artist, designer and academic. She is the Associate Dean Research Training in the Faculty of Art & Design, University of New South Wales, Sydney. Her research has been widely published in book chapters, academic journals, conference proceedings, and exhibition catalogues.
